So what we did was develop the ultimate complete tailwheel assembly. One stop shopping! We start with a complete in-house built Shock Monster Shock, arm, airframe mount, fork, and steering assembly. Then we give you 4 choices on tire/wheel sizes for one complete package.

And we've got a few more options for you. If you already have a baby bush wheel and you want to run it, no problem. We let you delete the wheel and tire from the package. Or if you already have a dual arm Matco tailwheel assembly, no problem. We let you delete the fork, steering, tire, and wheel from the package and run your current parts.

We've been selling and flying these tailwheel assemblies for the past 2 years but in very limited availability. We simply didn't have enough capacity in our shop to manufacture enough and we hate back orders. Haas CNC has filled our orders for more machines and now were at full speed on the Ultimate Tailwheel.

Fully adjustable spring rate. Fully adjustable caster angle, Fully adjustable tension break out. Full steering and castering when you need to swing the tail around.

One more trick..... you can purchase a short tailwheel with your package and also add a large tailwheel and side forks only to give yourself height option. You don't have to buy a completely new tailwheel assembly and you don't even have to remove the fork to install the larger tire. Just swap the fork sides and your tire package to switch diameters. Everything is interchangeable. Genius!

THIS PACKAGE INCLUDES 2 MAIN GEAR STRUT ASSEMBLIES.

We use our 2.0" shocks for the Piper J-3 Cub. This system can be used on stock or extended Cub style gear legs. The shocks mount from the cabane vee down to the lower gear leg.

Mounting is simple and just takes a new minutes. Fully adjustable for length.

For extreme applications, use our cabane style gear leg package with our 2.25" shocks. These are found in the Shock Monster gear legs + shocks category. The cabane vee mounting system for the shocks allows for extended length and wider stance as well as options to move the axle forward for improved braking.

Entry level shock package........

Internal coil Spring with nitrogen charged air/oil shock assembly.

THIS PACKAGE INCLUDES 2 MAIN GEAR SHOCK ASSEMBLIES.

This is our entry level shock package available for aircraft in the 900-1200 lbs empty weight range. Good performance for grass strips and light off airport adventures. Light weight at 11 lbs for the pair of shocks.


3.9" of shock travel is about 9-12" at the wheel.

Completely oil dampened. Stored energy created in the landing compression sends oil through a very complex series of holes and valves in a dynamic piston. This piston has a patented design that changes based on the type of landing you make. This is a similar piston design to our dual shock extreme strut assemblies but with a single piston instead of dual pistons.

We've been selling these coil shock systems overseas for years but our exclusive contract has expired so we can now offer them in the US as well. While these shocks fit a Super Cub and many other aircraft, it's not even close to the same level of performance as our dual shock extreme struts.This is a good grass strip product and is exactly the same technology as other manufactures. Don't over pay for a coil shock set up.

Light weight but not light on performance. Our custom valved air shocks are designed for bush planes looking for the harshest landing zones this planet has to offer. Our special shaft and piston design allows for the best compression ratio and most radical valving anyone has seen in aviation. These shocks are aircraft aluminum with ever bit of weight savings and strength designed right in.

This package includes our 2.25" Shock Monster shocks

How Does it work? Simple......Nitrogen sets the taxi height and oil does the dampening.

What makes our shocks so much better than everyone else's.......Large displacement lower pressure. We've developed a modular design into our shocks that allow us to fit a diameter shock that works best for your aircraft. In other words: Company Z might only have one diameter shock with one shaft size. You see the shaft size is the magic to an air/oil shock. The larger the diameter - the more load it can hold. So Company Z with their limited shock size needs to add way way too much nitrogen to their shocks to hold the load because the shaft is too small. In our case we can just increase the shaft size to get you right in the sweet spot. A shock works best with the pressure set between 140-300 psi. Too low of a pressure and the shock valve doesn't react fast enough. Too high of a pressure and the shock valve is unstable.

Our shocks are used in the compression struck during landing. This is the correct way to design a shock. So how do we make this work when the crappy coil or bungee system is in tension during your landing.....simple. We build a completely heat treated chromoly frame assembly to convert the tension motion of landing into a compression motion for the shock. This gives you the safest most reliable combination possible. Since the aluminum shocks have no side loads and no tension at any point (aluminum in tension is a horrible idea due to fatigue), you're never in risk of a broken shock like other systems. Your entire airframe is built from chromoly for a reason. It's light weight, incredibly strong, and handles forces in all direction. Our heat treated chromoly frames are nickel plated and teflon coated for wear and corrosion resistance. Heat treating of all the frame components is like supercharging their life and strength. It equalizes the molecular structures and allows everything to relaxed giving you a long life.

How about adjustability...... YES!!! In aviation we're so used to a setup that's the same for every aircraft in that model. But that's not fair, our needs and likes are the same. Well we have a solution for that too. Our shock system is way way way adjustable. You get to decide how much Sag (droop) YOU want in your aircraft and what taxi height YOU want. Because of our long travel suspension you're never limited to just a small window of adjustment like everyone else. You can truly custom taylor for your mission.

How about upgradability........you're not just buying a product for today, you're buying a completely upgradable package for the life of your aircraft.
